To many of us, Michael Jackson is a singer with an immense talent. He brought us ground breaking music videos that used technology way before his time. He set new bar for the music industry
He brought us music that made us feel good
He brought us dance steps that set new trend
He brought us songs that inspired us about life, earth, peace, and equality
He brought us spirited lyrics that move our hearts
He is a star, not an ordinary star, but a great star. What he has in common with other celebrities are the personal brand that they have created for themselves that set them apart from the rest of the people. They know what they want, they set goals, they focus and they take action.
We all can be a star but we have to accept the fact that we can never be Michael Jackson and we should never be. Instead, we should all be a star of our own.
Know what we want, set goals, focus, take action, be our self and reach for the stars.

Last year, the world was hit by a financial crisis that people have never seen before in decades. It was a storm, a big storm that have wiped out many companies, big and small, known and unknown, from the earth. Sadly, many people have lost their job and some have even worked without getting paid. Some say that the crisis is still not over and we are still in the crisis.
In a time like this, Metro Toastmasters Club was also not spared. We have lost members, be it direct or indirect consequence of the financial crisis. We were in the storm and we are still in the storm.
But nevertheless, I always believe that at the back of every crisis, there is always an opportunity. A new set of company will emerge, stronger than before, different than what they were before. I want Metro Toastmasters club to be one of the new set of entities.
We have a new EXCO line up that I believe is strong and can make a difference. However, the EXCO alone is not enough to make all the differences. They need support from every one - members and guests - to make this club a stronger club, vibrant and energetic.
So let us all work together to make this club a stronger club, vibrant and energetic.

Metro Club’s Story
Three avid Toastmasters gathered to form a club to call their own in the heart of Metropolitan Kuala Lumpur in late 1988. Mr. Francis Wong became its inaugural President with Mr. KL Ng and Mr. Yee Kim Foong acting as club sponsors. Metro KL was chartered on 17 July 1989 and designated Club No. 7607 by World Headquarters of Toastmasters International.
Realizing that people are more willing to “open up” when they are comfortable, Metro KL strives to maintain a Club environment that is cozy, friendly and conducive to learning, sharing and improving our communication skills. These unique features have kept Metro KL going through the years and into the new millennium, drawing members from all walks of life.
Initially holding its meetings at the old Regent Hotel that subsequently changed its name to the now Park Royal Hotel in the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur, Metro KL shifted its meeting venue to Vistana Hotel in the late nineties and has been there since
