- Three avid Toastmasters gathered to form a club to call their own in the heart of Metropolitan Kuala Lumpur in late 1988. Mr. Francis Wong became its inaugural President with Mr. KL Ng and Mr. Yee Kim Foong acting as club sponsors. Metro KL was chartered on 17 July 1989 and designated Club No. 7607 by World Headquarters of Toastmasters International.
