Laugh Out and Hear Feedbacks

It was a memorable night for Metrolites to hold a successful Humorous and Evaluation Contest on 9 September 2010 after such a long time that the club was not doing any contest. Well done to organizing chair TM Ellie for all the hard work! On the event itself, all the role players have done their best and contributed their precious time to execute the contest smoothly. Of course, this event would not be possible if there are no brave contestants to tickle us with humor and to inject us with valuable feedbacks.

Five contestants in each category competed in a friendly manner, as evidently displayed by wishing each other luck and gracing with words of encouragement. That is the spirit of Toastmasters! Everything is done in the spirit of learning and enjoyment. The audience that night was fabulous that they were receptive of the humor, or shall I say the contestants have done a great job in crafting speeches with elements of humor to make the audience laugh. Most of the contestants are first timers. But as previous president Victor Ong commented 'it's as if Metro has been doing this kind of contest all along' - something to that effect. The evaluation was fantastic as well, with lots of feedbacks to help the test speaker improve on her future speeches. I believe everyone who heard the evaluations have one or two to take away for improvements.
