Dear Everyone,
What a great meeting to kick-off the year! We have a very good attendance last night, 12/01/2012, of 24 people, 10 of which are guests. Good job for inviting your friends to attend our meeting and for publishing our club activity in the newspaper. Keep it up!
You might be wondering what have you missed last night? To give you a recap here's a summary of what transpired in the meeting.
We all have enjoyed the meeting as the TME pump up the energy of everyone to participate. This is a biased comment as I was the TME, haha. I am glad to see friendly faces that night and all seemed to be welcoming which helped me overcome my nervousness.
Our club voted in a new member, TM Zubir, and welcomed him of course with standing ovation. It is always a pleasure to see fresh blood coming in to our club having the intention to improve themselves. And this is what keeeps the club going. Each one of us is the building block of the club which keeps us standing through the years. I believe our senior members are almost always willing to lend a helping hand and guidance to our members especially to the new ones, TM Bee Yin, TM Ella, TM JK, TM Maxson, and the latest edition TM Zubir.
New year, new beginnings. That is what we saw in table topics. TM Amanda made an extra effort to make the session lively and enjoyable by injecting game and music in choosing the table topics speaker. Well done! And because it was an unbiased choosing of the speaker, five guests are able to participate. Needless to say, members are on the queue for speaking. And The Best Table Topics speaker... (drum roll)... was TM Saiful!!! A very good value from our best speaker's speech was a deliberate action which comes from the process of thorough thinking leads to NO regrets. Wonderful message.
Prepared speeches is not empty as well. And we've had the priviledge to get to know the new member, TM Zubir, through his ice breaker speech. If i remember it right, the speech evaluator sums up the speech as 'wow'! Great job TM Zubir. We are looking forward to hear from you again in your next speeches. A seasoned and elegant toastmaster, that's what CTM CL Victor Ong exudes. It was a great laugh in his attempt to deliver a humorous speech on Advance manual, The Entertaining Speaker. Here we see Victor in a different, a joker if i must say hidden behind a corporate look! The floor was bursting with laugher as everyone attentively relates to the funny stories.
The evaluation is graced by another seasoned toastmaster and our past president CC CL Helen. It was a very positive feedback which will "make" a person rather than break. Very well generous in appraising each one's effort to make the meeting a success. Very well gracious in providing points for improvement in a way that people who are being evaluated are receptive of the feedback. And the rest of the evaluation team did their job to the best of their abilities. Thank you for your helping us succeed in our roles. It is truly amazing to hear feedbacks that our own senses cannot perceive.
If I were to rate the meeting, let me give it 3A's... Almost Always Amazing!
